Platinum Yucatán Princess is an adults-only resort for guests 18 and over, on the beach in Playa del Carmen. The centre of town is 10 km and 15 minutes away, the airport 50 km, about 40 minutes. Long pools line white buildings, with loungers along the water and a sandy beach under palms.

There are 472 rooms. Deluxe Junior Suites are the base, Deluxe Swimout Junior Suites open directly onto a pool, and Platinum Deluxe suites, Honeymoon suites, a Master Suite and a Presidential Suite sit above them. Rooms carry bright color accents, a whirlpool bath in some and balconies over the gardens.
The plan covers every restaurant and bar except two. Dinner moves between the Yucatán buffet and a la carte rooms. Rodeo Grill serves Tex-Mex grill with a romantic terrace, Kotatsu is Asian and needs a reservation, Aroma is the international gourmet room, and an Italian restaurant sits beside the Kotatsu bar. Skylights, up in an exclusive area with views toward Cozumel, is outside the plan. Bars include a wet bar in the Platinum pools, another in the central pool, a beach bar, a lobby coffee bar and a disco near the Plaza, and live bands play at night. Room service runs 24 hours.
There are 13 swimming pools, some with pool bars, plus the Clubhouse. Guests can also use the facilities of the neighbouring Grand Riviera Princess and Grand Sunset Princess, except the Platinum and Chill Out areas. Daily activities and nightly entertainment fill the schedule, and the spa with its hydrothermal circuit costs extra.
It suits couples and adult groups who want a big resort with a lot of pools, no children and the town a short ride away.
