Binniguenda was the first hotel built in Huatulco, in the heart of Santa Cruz Bay, and was redesigned in 2012. It sits a few meters from the bay, with the marina and the town's streets to walk. The hotel runs a shuttle to Playa Santa Cruz and keeps its own beach club, Nirú, on the sand.

The 108 rooms run from Standard Deluxe with two double beds and a balcony, through Select King on the ground floor, to a Junior Suite and the Master Suite, which sleeps up to six. The Gobernador adds a jacuzzi and a sofa bed.
The all-inclusive concept is built around three restaurants. Chahue is a palapa theatre-restaurant with buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner and a themed dinner show each night. The Chachacual snack bar serves the pool, and Maguey is the lobby bar. Tangolunda is a dinner restaurant for adults only, serving Spanish, French and Italian menus on three nights a week by reservation. At Nirú the beach club puts out a buffet, snacks and drinks from 1 pm.
The pool is set in gardens, with an adults-only sun deck and a pool table. The kids club takes children aged 4 to 9 for games and activities from 11 am to 4 pm. Romantic dinners and the medical service cost extra. It suits families and couples who want a small resort in the town of Santa Cruz rather than a large beachfront complex.
