Barceló Maya Beach sits on a 1.2-mile stretch of the Mayan Riviera shoreline, with the clubhouse set back from the sand: reception, a Premium Club Lounge, the Beach Lobby Bar with its smoking terrace, the Beach Buffet and a specialty restaurant. It is one of four hotels that share the Barceló Maya Grand Resort, so a stay here comes with the facilities of Barceló Maya Caribe, Colonial and Tropical as well.

Standard Superior rooms measure 39 square meters and the Family Room 117. Premium Level guests move up to the Junior Suite Ocean Front at 55 square meters with a terrace facing the sea, or the Oceanfront Suite at 133. The Premium Level adds its own lounge, a concierge, premium drinks, room service and access to the hydrotherapy area of the spa.
Three restaurants belong to the resort itself: the Beach Buffet, inspired by Mayan culture, México Lindo for Mexican specialties, and the Rancho Grande grill. The all-inclusive plan covers snacks and drinks around the clock, and the buffets and restaurants of the three neighbouring hotels are open to you as well.
Eight pools are spread across the property, from wading pools for children to semi-Olympic pools and pools for adults, and a surf pool is available for an extra charge. The U-Spa at the Grand Resort covers more than 32,000 square feet, built around the four elements. The Barcy Kids Club looks after the children, and tennis courts, beach volleyball and water sports are included, and evenings bring theater shows and a disco. Double-decker buses link the whole complex every 20 minutes from 8:00 to 2:30 in the morning.
Cancún airport is 48 miles away. It suits families who want a big, busy resort with a lot of choice and who like wandering between neighbouring hotels.
